Ashwin ,Speak about smith dismissal

INDIA TOUR OF AUSTRALIA, 2020-21 People talked about who'll dismiss Smith, nobody gave me a chance - Ashwin Share Tweet R Ashwin dismissed Steven Smith three times in the series Down Under © Getty R Ashwin  has toured Australia on multiple occasions with the Indian team but the latest trip will have to be the most memorable one for the offspinner. Not only did the 34-year-old leave a mark with the ball -- neutralising the threat posed by Australia's batsmen especially Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne -- Ashwin also delivered with the bat when it mattered. During a chat with select group of journalists on Sunday (January 24), Ashwin spoke about the historic series Down Under, his duel with Smith and more. Excerpts: Talking about the series Down Under - do you reckon the Aussies underestimated India's bench strength? I am not too sure. I personally think they knew our bowling was going to challenge them all through the series. I think it is just that the team found ways to ...

India vs England series huge than ashs , said swann

Beating India in India is higher than winning Ashes away - Swann Share Tweet England and India will face each other in nine Tests this year. © Getty Performance in the Ashes should no longer be the yardstick to judge the England team, feels Graeme Swann who says England must aspire beyond the Ashes as 'Australia are not the best team in the world anymore'. The former England spinner said beating India in India would now be a higher achievement considering their performances in recent times, and added that England need to have the right setup to overcome the spin challenge. "England always saying 'well the Ashes are coming up'. B***ocks to that. If you want to be the best team in the world, let's be the best team all over the planet, not just trying to beat Australia away. We have to move away from looking forward to the Ashes series. It's a mentality ingrained in this country. Australia are not the best team in the world anymore. They used to be, by miles...

Virtual Eye admits 'fourth stump' mistake in SCG Test Share Tweet When a review for LBW against Steve Smith showed four stumps on replay © Agencies In the  recent SCG Test  between India and Australia, an LBW appeal against Steve Smith in the second innings had been reviewed by the bowling side after the onfield umpire ruled in favour of the batsman. In the replays, a fourth stump had surfaced 'mysteriously' on the screen. The operators of the Decision Review System (DRS) have now admitted the gaffe. "We reported that immediately to the people we work with at the ICC because it was a mistake on our part -- fortunately it did not affect the decision, the umpire was correct, but is should not have happened. We take full responsibility for that but the important thing was that the decision to stay with the umpires call was the correct one -- the real ball track did show the ball missed," Ian Taylor, the MD of Virtual Eye that operates DRS in Australia and New Zea...
